Trains in Poland
The efficiency of Polish railway depends on routes and directions. Generally, the network is more developed and extensive in western Poland than in the east. Comfort of travel depends on a type of train. There are different train classifications. The fastest and the most comfortable, and of course the most expensive, are intercity/eurocity and express trains. The cheaper and slower trains which stop at majority of stations on the way are the so called TLK and regional trains. Train connections are best between the biggest cities. On the other hand, there are places which are inaccessible or hardly accessible by train (like the Wolf’s Lair or Bialowieza Forest). Some of the best connections are from Warsaw to Krakow and Poznan – fast trains cover the distance in less than 3 hours. Journey between Warsaw and Gdansk takes around 5 hours while from Warsaw to Wroclaw – around 6 hours. To get from Krakow to Wroclaw by train one must assign about 5,5 hours. Travel from Poznan to Wroclaw takes approx. 3 hours.
Cost of tickets depends on the distance and type of the train. We charge a 50 PLN service fee for ticket reservation and the delivery to your hotel in Poland. You can also purchase tickets online on the Polish Railways (PKP) official website: https://intercity.pl/en/ Visit their website for train schedules.
